Level 1 Stylist – Juan Model – Kegan
Juan conveyed in his submission, “I like to think of myself as a very intuitive person. I’ve always wanted to be a little bit of an empath. Be that person who would see someone and know what they’re feeling right away. Turns out I picked the right field to start my career. I meet people through this industry from all walks of life. It has been a pleasure to service the community of individuals that choose to see me time and time again. When they are happy, I am happy. We can all agree with that. I have had the great fortune of meeting my model years ago. Upon meeting her I could tell that there was a flame inside her. The future would prove that this flame would sometimes burst out. She evoked a passion and intensity from me that carried into my other guests long after I met her. Flame, warmth, desire, and vigor came to mind when becoming inspired by her as my muse. I needed to see that energy does more than leak out. It needed to shout and scream not only in color but also in style. I knew that red and orange pigments were the way to go. These to me spoke the truest to bringing out that inner spark. I wanted to incorporate a modern cut that would be a lot of fun for my model to have. Mullets have become an eye-catching hair trend and paired with her personality and new color it only made sense. Utilizing varying unconventional lengths in strategic areas to enhance the trendy mullet shape. My hope is that the image gets my inspiration across to people viewing it. My model moved me emotionally. It was a personal connection and I want you all to be affected.“
One of [salon]718’s pillars are education and growing developing stylists into artists. Congratulations to Level 1 Stylist Juan for achieving 2nd Place in the Nouveau Competition.
