Maggie’s Journey to Stylist

My journey to becoming a stylist at [salon]718 first began with my love for makeup. Throughout the process, [salon]718 was mentioned a few times to me through friends and school. I’m a big believer that everything happens for a reason and when the salon’s name brought up to me I thought that this was an opportunity I could not pass up.

When I joined the team, I immediately knew that I belonged here. Everything from their community, to their core values aligned with my own. I wanted to work for a company that cared and valued their employees. Not only did [salon]718 do this for me, they as a team, made me feel like I was a leader in this industry even as new talent. The dream of working in an environment that is filled with knowledgeable individuals that can provide constant support whenever needed became a reality for me, which I will be forever thankful for.

What attracted me to the salon was their mission statement; to help their team grow not only as stylists, but as people as well. Every single person I’ve worked with has given me something to take with me throughout my journey; my mentors, educators and coworkers have all played an enormous role in what I needed to work behind the chair today.

Christine is a stylist that is exceptional at her work and mentored me during my time here. Although in the beginning it was challenging for me because I had no prior experience working at a salon, I immediately was drawn to her energy and spirit which motivated me to push harder and become the better version of myself. I’m super grateful to have had Christine as a mentor. She allowed me to feel comfortable whenever I had a question, taught me new skills and techniques, and provided tools that were necessary to achieve my goal. Her endless support pushed me through all the ups and downs to get to where I am now.

Today I am officially behind the chair constantly challenging myself everyday with hair I never thought I would be able to do. I’m extremely proud to say that my journey as a stylist began at such an amazing place and I’m excited to see where it takes me in the future.
